Okra Egg Fry

Chopped Okra scrambled with Egg and spices

This Fry is easy to do ,takes 6 mins only. Very tasty sided dish for Rice,variety rice,sambar ,Rasam and Curd Rice.It goes with chapathis too.


  • 12 okra - cut into small pieces
  • 3 Eggs (well beaten with 1 tsp salt)
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp salt - to taste
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut
  • a sprig chopped curry leaves
  • few chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp chopped onion
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp refined oil


  1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds,then cumin seeds,then chopped onions,chopped curry leaves,coriander leaves, and saute well.
  2. Add okra chopped pieces and saute.
  3. Add freshly ground pepper powder,turmeric powder,chilli powder and salt to taste and saute well.
  4. Now add well beaten eggs and saute well.
  5. Then add grated coconut and lemon juice and mix well.Turn off the flame.
  6. Serve it hot with rice and sambar.
