Ingredients
vegetarian 4 servings
1 cup Soy chunks (boiled in water with turmeric powder-1/2 tsp, chilli powder- 1 tsp and salt - 1 tsp. for a min and strain the water and squeeze the soya chunks and shred into thin pieces)
1/2 cup potato - 1/2 cup (boiled,peeled and mashed)
1 green chilly
1 cm size ginger
1 clove garlic (peeled)
1 tsp fennel seeds
1 green cardamom
1 cinnamon stick
1 clove
1 1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
few finely chopped coriander leaves
few finely chopped mint leaves
1 no egg (beaten well with salt - 1/2 tsp and pepper -1/2 tsp)
2 tbsp bread crumbs
4 tbsp refined oil
Directions
Grind green chilly,fennel seeds,ginger piece and garlicinto a paste.
Powder green cardamom,cinnamon stick and clove .
In a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp oil and saute chopped onions till the onion is golden brown.
Add coriander and mint leaves, chilli powder, cumin powder,ground spice powder and green chillies-ginger paste.Saute till oil separates from the mixture.
Add boiled and mashed potato next and then turmeric powder and salt .Mix well.
Add boiled and shredded soya chunks. saute till the mixture becomes thick and evenly spread like dough.Remove from fire. Let it cool for 10 mins.
Form into desired shape pieces using moulds.Dip the shaped doughs in beaten egg and then roll them in breadcrumbs.
Heat the remaining 3 tbsp. of oil in a frying pan and shallow fry until golden brown on both sides.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup, onions rings and garnish with coriander leaves.
