an apricot sweet

A popular Hyderabadi dessert served after their biriyanis....that is rich in it's own way.you cannot miss this if you are at Hyderabad!!

Ingredients vegetarian 1 servings


    • 100 gms dried apricots
    • apricot kernels
    • 75 gms sugar
    • water for boiling

    Directions

    1. soak the apricots in water for a while till it gets soft
    2. remove the seed from inside and keep aside
    3. boil the apricots in sugar and water(water level can be just till it is immersed well)
    4. cook on simmer till the apricots or soft and all the water is absorbed making it almost dry.
    5. break open seed and remove the kernels and chop finely and use for garnish.
    6. serve hot with vanilla ice cream or eat just like that.

    NOTE: YOU MAY ALTER THE QUANTITY OF SUGAR AS PER INDIVIDUAL'S REQUIREMENT

    2 or 3 tblsp of sugar may be just enough for this recipe....the sweetness of apricot is brought out well even as you are boiling it.cook it thick and saucy and see how your guests are going to rave about this delicacy!!
