Dry Ginger-Coriander Coffee (a medicated drink )

This medicated drink is a good remedy for body pain,nausea,cough and cold - a grandma therapy.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 4 tsp Chukku powder (dry ginger)
    • 1/2 tsp pepper powder (freshly ground)
    • 1/2 tsp spices powder(of green cardamom,cumin seeds,cloves- all ground together)
    • 1 tsp dhania powder (freshly ground after dry-sauting like pepper)
    • 1/2 cup crushed Jaggery (payasam) or sugar
    • 1 cup boiled milk
    • 4 to 5 cups water


    1. Boil 2 cups water and put the jaggery , stir it well and filter the jaggery water.
    2. Boil water(3 cups) in a sauce pan .When it boils add dry ginger powder.pepper powder,dhania powder and spices powder.
    3. Allow it to boil for 5 mins and add jaggery water and stir it well.Allow it to boil for a minute.
    4. Strain the liquid.
    5. Serve it glasses with little sugar and boiled milk.

    Yes Rajeshwari, that's why in Step 5, I've mentioned that sugar and boiled milk to be served separately with Chukku-Malli Coffee.



    we drink without adding it to milk.
