Bhindi ki Sabzi

Bhindi pieces cooked with Spices

Goes very well with chapathis or rice .Needs 10 mins cooking time. Hotel-style home preparation. Enjoy!

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 2 cups chopped okra(ladies finger)- wash and wipe dry.
    • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
    • 1/2 cup chopped tomato
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 1/2 tsp chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
    • 1 tsp carom seeds
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • 5 tsp refined oil
    • few chopped coriander leaves
    • few curry leaves
    • 2 tsp salt-to taste


    1. Shallow fry the okra pieces in 1 tbsp oil and keep it aside.
    2. Add remaining oil to the kadai, splutter carom seeds and cumin seeds, add turmeric powder,chopped onions,curry leaves,coriander leaves and chopped tomatos. Saute well for 3 mins.
    3. Add chilli powder,ginger-garlic  paste and salt .Add okra pieces and saute for a min or 2.
    4. Garnish with coriander leaves.
    5. Serve this hot with rice or chapathis.
