Vazhakai podimas

whip greenchilli,ginger,coconut in mixer once.this way also u can do as kids eat without chilli fear.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 4 Rawbanana
    • 1 tsp mustard
    • 1 tsp chana dal
    • 2 green chilli,chopped finely
    • 1 tsp ginger,chopped finely
    • 2 tbsp fresh coconut
    • 1 sprig curry leaves
    • Salt,to taste
    • 1/2 tsp hing
    • 1/2 lemon(optional)
    • 1 tsp coconut oil


    1. Cut the head portion & end portion of raw banana and steam them.It changes its colour.Then allow it to cool for sometime.
    2. peel its skin & grate them.
    3. Heat oil in a kadai and splutter mustard.Add chanadal,saute till golden brown.Then hing,greenchilli,ginger,curry leaves,grated rawbanana and salt.
    4. Mix gently otherwise it sticks to eachother.
    5. Add coconut and squeeze lemon lightly.
    6. Podimas is ready.

    Note:Lemon is squeezed for added taste.if u don't want to add.u can avoid but for potato podimas u need to squeeze lemon.
