Ragi Upma

Upma made from Ragi flour

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup Ragi flour
    • 1 tblsp Vegetable Oil
    • 2 tsp Mustard seeds
    • a pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
    • 2 tsp Urad dal
    • 2 tsp Channa dal
    • 1 Green chilli (finely chopped)
    • 1 chopped Onion
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 tsp Lemon juice
    • 1 tblsp chopped Cilantro (coriander leaves)


    1. Take Ragi flour in a bowl. Sprinkle water little by little & crumble the flour. Donot add too much of Water, it will become a paste.
    2. Heat Oil in a kadai. Add Mustard seeds & Hing. Once the seeds crackle add Channa dal, Urad dal & Green chilli. Fry for few seconds.
    3. Add Onion & fry till soft.
    4. Add crumbled Ragi flour & Salt. Mix well for 3-4 mins on Medium heat.
    5. Remove from heat. Add lemon juice & Cilantro. Mix well & serve hot with Yogurt.



    A very healthy ,simple nd innovative recipe . I've never heard of ragi upma ...Thank U ... Will surely try it out .


    Good for health. A very nice receipe. Adding a few drops of lemon juice tastes better.
