Methi sabji

simple fenugreek leaves dish

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2 bunch fresh methi leaves
    • 1 potato
    • 2 tomato,chopped
    • 2 medium onion
    • 1/4 cup moong dal
    • 1/2 tsp jeera
    • 2 green chilli split lengthwise
    • 4 garlic pods
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/2 tsp hing
    • 1/2 tsp sugar
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1 tsp oil

    Directions

    1. Wash methi and drain them and chop.
    2. Wash Moong dal and drain it.
    3. chop potato and tomato and onion.
    4. Heat oil in a pressure pan,splutter jeera,hing & then green chilli.
    5. Next add onion,garlic.saute till transparent.
    6. Add tomato and saute till glazed.
    7. Then add moong dal.roast for 2 minutes.Potato is added and methi leaves.
    8. Fry for 2-3 minutes till all mixed up well.
    9. Lastly add water,sugar and salt and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
    10. Methi sabji is ready.Serve hot with chapathi or phulka or rice.
