Futtanu Chutney

Chutney of roasted gram

Simple, easy and fast to prepare. No much of ingredients required. Good with idli,dosa and all upmas.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    1 cup of roasted channa dal (futtanu) 4 to 5 green chillis few pieces of Tamarind 1/2 cup Yoghurt (optional) salt to taste For tempering 1 tbsp oil Mustard seeds Cumin seeds A sprig of curry leaves 2 whole red chillis a little of urad dal

    Directions

    1. If using tamarind soak it in a little water for 5 to 10 mins.
    2. Grind the roasted channa dal to powder.
    3. Add green chillis, soaked tamarind with the water (or curd) and salt to the powder and once again grind it.
    4. If required add a little water but don't make it too liquid.
    5. Heat a little oil and add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves, red chillis and urad dal. Temper the chutney with this.
    6. The chutney is ready to serve.
