A different method to prepare the popular rice dish

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 3 cups rice (socked for 15 min)
    • ½ kg Skinless and boneless Chicken
    • 5-6 Tomatoes (grinded)
    • 1 tsp Red chilies
    • 1 tsp Coriander powder
    • ½ tsp Garam Masala
    • Coriander leaves
    • 3-4 tbsp oil

    a) Grind the following and keep aside

    • 2 tbsp Khas Khas
    • Salt to taste
    • Full garam masala (ilichi, long, etc.)
    • 1 tsp Red chilies
    • 1 tsp Coriander powder

    b) Grind these seperately and keey aside

    • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
    • ½ cup coconut (fresh or dry)
    • 2-3 Green chilies
    • Coriander leaves

    Directions

    1. Take oil in cooker add (a) ingredients cook for 2-3 min.
    2. Now add (b) ingredients cook for 5 min. Now add tomatoes, salt, red chilies, coriander powder and garam masala stir well.
    3. Add chicken and stir well till all the masala is socked and dry.
    4. Now add 1 glass of water and close the cooker, cook for 10-15 min. Check if the chicken is cooked.
    5. Now add all the gravy to rice, salt for rice and cook adding required water till rice is cooked (make sure you add less water as normally cooked for rice).
    6. Add chopped coriander leaves and some garam masala and serve hot with onion raita.
    7. You can also add some fried kaju for garnishing.
