Indian Beans(Avaraikai) Masala

Masala made with Broad Beans

Very easy to do side dish which requires 6 mins microwave cooking time only. Try at home and drop your comments.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 200 gms Avaraikai(Broad Beans or Flat Beans)- cleaned and cut finely
    • 1 finely chopped onions
    • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp chilli powder
    • 1 tsp cumin seeds
    • few curry leaves
    • few coriander leaves
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 2 tbsp water
    • 2 tsp refined oil(optional)
    • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds(optional)
    • 2 whole red chillies(optional)

    Directions

    1. Take a microwave bowl,mix chopped onions,finely cut Avaraikai,turmeric powder, chilli powder, cumin seeds, curry leaves, coriander leaves and salt so that the masala is evenly spread.
    2. Sprinkle 2 tbsp water over it.
    3. Microwave on High for 3 mins.
    4. Take the bowl out.
    5. Put oil,mustard seeds and red chillies in another microwave bowl. Microwave on High for a minute and add this to the Avaraikai masala bowl, mix well and Microwave on High for 2 more mins.
    6. Take that out and serve with rice.
