Instant vada

This is a very favourite dish among maharastrain people at the time of feast

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 cup urad dad
    • 2-3 spoons of corriender seed
    • 1 tps jeera seeds
    • 1/2 cup rice powder
    • 1/4 cup Jowar powder
    • 1/4 cupbesan
    • 1 tps chilly powder
    • salt to taste
    • 1 medium onion
    • oil for frying


    1. soak urad dal along with coriander and jeera seeds for 3-4 hrs, then grind it smooth add rice powder, jowar, beasan, chilly powder, salt and grated onion,  with the help of water knead the dough ( like chappati) and let it rest for 1/2 hr.
    2. Heat oil in kadhai.  Make medium size balls of the kneaded dough, take 1 plastic bag put few drops of oil on the bag and with the help of your palm flatten the dough in round shape, don't make it very thin.  Fry it golden.
    3. It taste good with malwani chicken



    Nice Vada recipe but it takes nearly 4-5 hrs .


    hi pallavi its very good actually vada cannot be made if it is not soak.but compare to original recipe it can made quick

    Hi! i also connect with alka title is not match with your recipe & it is not instant.


    What is so "instant" about it, when you still have to soak and grind? Recipe seems to be tasty but the title is sure misleading!
