Cucumber Mustard Raita

Cucumber Yogurt Dip

Raita with sweet pungent mustard flavor. Loved in eastern india.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup Yoghurt, cold and sweet
  • 1 no. Green Chilies, chopped
  • ½ cup Cucumber, grated
  • 1 tbsp Mustard seeds (yellow), fine powder
  • Sugar to taste
  • 2 tbsps. Mustard Oil


Cannot get any easier than this.

  1. Wash,peel and great the cucumber, keep aside.
  2. Mix well all the ingredients in the yogurt.




We don t use mustard oil in any raita. Add finely chopped tender ginger.


this raita is also called "pahadi raita". Its loved in uttranchal a lot by its people. Also if u mix all the ingredients + may i add HALDI also to get yellow color and leave outside the fridge for 15-30 min then more pungent flavour will seep in. Delicious!
