Tasty Rice

Tasty Rice recipe. Goes well with soal kadhi or buttermilk

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup Rice
    • 1 cup Besan
    • 1 /2 chillies finely chopped
    • Corriender for decoration
    • Salt and chilli powder according to taste
    • 1 tsp shugar
    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp haldi powder
    • 3-4 tsp oil
    • 1.5 cup water


    1. Wash rice 3/4 times and then pressure cook with 1.5 cups of water
    2. In a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds
    3. Once the seeds start crackling, add green chillies, haldi powder and besan. Keep stirring till you could smell the aroma of besan.
    4. Once done add red chilli powder and sugar. Sprinkle some water over this
    5. cover the pan with lid and allow the mixture to cook for 2-3 mins, add additional oil if req.
    6. Once done remove the lid and add already cooked rice to this. Add salt to taste.
    7. Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves and serve.
    Tip: Leftover rice can be used in this case.
