Tomato chutney

sweet and sour chutney

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 4-5 tsp refined oil
    • ½ tsp kalongi
    • ¼ tsp mustard seeds
    • 3 onions (thickly sliced)
    • 5 Tomatoes
    • ½ tsp red chilli powder (or degi mirch)
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tsp Ginger (grated)
    • ½ tsp Garlic (optional)

     

    Directions

    1. Heat oil, add kalongi when done add onion and saute it
    2. Then add tomatoes, ginger, garlic and all the other ingredients. 
    3. when well cooked.
    4. cool it then grind it in mixi
    5. Your tomato chutney is ready to eat
    6. Serve it chapaties, dosa etc.

    tomoto chutney is perfect.chana dal is added to increase the quantity too.

    one can even add chana dal while fry. it wil make it more delicious.

    "kalongi" is "onion seeds".if u are unable to get it u can even use mustard seed(sarso in hindi).

    what is kalongi??
