Makhana Kheer

Dessert made from puffed lotus seeds

A different kind of kheer and a different kind of taste. You will love it.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

  • 100 gms. Puffed Lotus seeds
  • 1 liter Milk
  • 125 gms. Sugar
  • 50 gms. Coconut, fresh, grated
  • 2 tbsps. Clarified Butter


  1. Heat ghee in frying pan and roast makhana for a few minutes
  2. Meanwhile, boil Milk in another vessel.
  3. When Makhana is roasted, add it to boiling milk. Simmer for a few minutes.
  4. Add Sugar, Simmer another couple of minutes.
  5. Add Coconut.
  6. Serve Hot.

crushed makhana will be more tastier ,u can also addsome of d raisins it it....


it will b good if we crush makhana before roasting ,kheer will come out creamier
