Mushroom Pepper Fry

Stir fried mushrooms with pepper & onion

Very tasty dish which i learnt from my friend in India. Good as an Appetizer or an side dish.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 3 cups Button Mushroom
    • 1 tsp Jeera (Cumin seeds)
    • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
    • 3 tsp Vegetable Oil
    • 1 sprig Curry leaves
    • 1 tsp Garlic paste
    • 4-5 Green chillies (finely chopped)
    • 2 tsp Black pepper (coarsely powdered)
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/4 cup Cilantro (Coriander leaves) for garnish


    1. Clean the Mushrooms & dice them into quarters. Remove the stem.
    2. In a heavy bottom pan, add Oil & Jeera. Fry for 3-4 seconds.
    3. Add finely chopped Onion, green chillies, garlic paste & curry leaves. Stir fry on a High heat till onions turn transclusent.
    4. Add the diced Mushrooms & stir fry constantly so that it doenot stick to the pan.
    5. Add Salt at the end to avoid Mushrooms from becoming soggy.
    6. Add coarsely crushed Pepper powder & mix well for 3-4 mins.
    7. Garnish with Cilantro & serve hot.
