Coconut rice

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1cup basmathi rice
    • 1/2 cup chana dal
    • 2 cups coconut milk(thick milk)
    • 2 cardamoms
    • 1 cinnamon stick (small stick)
    • 1 clove
    • curry leaves
    • 2 tbsp ghee
    • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
    • 1/2 onion chopped(optional)
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Soak rice & chana dal in a water for 20 mins and drain.
    2. Take a pressure cooker put ghee & allow to melt.
    3. then add cardamom, cinnamon stick, cloves and let them cracking in ghee.
    4. then add ginger garlic paste, onion.
    5. after onion & ginger garlic is fried, add rice & dal
    6. Pour coconut milk in it, then add salt & curry leaves.
    7. Close the cooker lid & leave for 3 whistle(or sounds). (You may have to adjust the timing depending on the heat and kind of cooker you are using)
    8. Its ready to serve.
