Spicy Aloo

A good starter

Mostly preferred as salad

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 kg potato
    • 1 tbsp red chilli powder
    • 1 tbsp coriander powder
    • 1 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
    • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
    • 3 tbsp oil
    • 1 drop of red food colour
    • coriander leaves for garnishing

    Directions

    1. Boil potatoes & keep aside.
    2. Heat oil in a pan. Crackle mustard seeds& cumin seeds. Lower the flame. Add red chilli powder,coriander powder, turmeric powder & salt.
    3. Fry for 1min. Add food colour & finally add potatoes (cut into 4 pieces).
    4. Mix well till the potatoes get mixed with masalas
    5. Garnish with coriander,You can add lemon if needed.
    6. Ready to serve.

    Did not take too long to make at all. Not a messy dish either. Cooked in less than 10 minutes without time taken to boil potatoes. Turned out great! Good recipe to try as either salad type dish or to eat with chappatis as dry bhaji.
