1 cup split black gram dal (dhuli urad) (soak for 2hours)
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 pinch hing
2 tsp dhaniya powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
salt to taste
oil for frying
Directions
Sift flour, salt and soda. Rub in ghee and make a hard dough using little water. Keep aside for 30minutes. For the filling grind all ingredients coarsely. Saute the filling in ghee till golden. Keep aside to cool. Divide the dough into 16 parts.
Shape each part into a ball.make them into cups,place 1 tbsp of filling into each cup and pat into rounds.make all the balls in similar fashion.
Heat oil. deep fry the kachoris, a few at a time on medium heat to golden brown colour till they are crispy.
Remove from oil, drain on a paper napkin and serve hot with green chutney, tamarind sauce or tomato ketchup.
