Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1/4 kg Bhindi
    • 2-3 Green Chillies
    • 1 tsp Jeera
    • 1/2 tsp Haldi
    • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
    • 1 tsp Dhaniya Powder
    • 1/2 tsp Amchoor (Dry Mango Powder)
    • Salt
    • Cooking oil

    Directions

    1. Wash Bhindi and cut them into small (round) 4-5 pieces.
    2. Wash the green chillies and cut them into small pieces and mix them with Bhindi.
    3. Heat oil in a pan and add jeera.
    4. Add Bhindi and fry for some time.
    5. Add Haldi, Dhaniya and Mirchi powder.
    6. Add Salt.Cover and simmer it for 10 mins.
    7. Keep stirring it time to time.
    8. Add Amchoor powder.
    9. Its ready to serve.

    This is indeed a very simple way to cook lady finger... Since i am just learning to cook this recipe was my first experiment... However it turned out quite dry hence added little water ... and also instead of amchoor powder i added garam masala powder .. (amchoor wasnt available ) I am highly grateful to this website :)

    This is a very basic bhindi,will help the beginners. Normally you newer get such basic recipes on sites or books.

    using mustard oil {burnt i.e. heated to smoking temperature}makes it crispier.You can also add chopped onions and fried potatoes to it.
