Sindhi Saibhaji(Palak) with Bugga(Brown) Chawal

Its very easy to cook dal palak served with rice

Hope you like it. I am posting a recipe for the first time so I am sorry for any mistakes

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    For Saibhaji

    • 500gms  palak
    • 1 cup of chana dal
    • 1/2 cup of methi leaves
    • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
    • 3-4 green chillies
    • 5-6 garlic cloves
    • 1 inch of ginger
    • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp coriander powder
    • 3 tomatoes
    • 1 finely chopped onion
    • salt to taste
    • 1 small brinjal
    • 1 tsp ghee
    • 1 tsp oil

    For Bugga Chawal(Rice)

    • 2 cups of basmati rice
    • 2 onions
    • 1-2 bay leaves
    • 2 cloves
    • 1 tsp of red chilly pwder
    • 1 tsp of coriander leaves
    • 1 cm cinamon stick
    • 1 tbsp of oil

    Directions

    For Sai Bhaji

     

    1. Finely chop spinach, methi leaves and coriander leaves and wash them .Keep aside
    2. Soak chana dal for 15-20min
    3. Make paste of garlic,ginger and green chillies
    4. Heat oil in pressure cooker.
    5. Add onion and fry till it turns light pink color
    6. Now add chana dal first,than ginger garlic green chilly paste followed by tomatoes ,brinjal followed by turmeric,coriander powder,salthite rice and finally
    7. now add spinach,methiand coriander leaves
    8. Now mix the entire stuff in cooker . Let it cook till all water is dried
    9. Now add 1 glass of water
    10. Close the pressure cooker and cook till 5-6 whistles
    11. After cooker opens mash the bhaji
    12. Give tarka of ghee over it while serving
    13. If you are garlic lover add 2 cloves of garlic finely chopped in ghee while giving tarka
    14. Serve with plain white rice or brown rice(Bugga Chawal)

    For Bugga Chawal

    1. Heat oil in a deep pan
    2. Add bay leaves, cloves and cinamon sticks
    3. Add onions and fry till it turns brown
    4. Add 4 cups of water
    5. Add salt,red chilly powder,coriander powder
    6. Add rice and cook the rice
    7. Brown rice is ready to eat with saibhaji

    what is Salthite rice? receipe sounds yummy without "salthite rice" too.
