Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 2 cup Beaten/Pressed Rice
    • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
    • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
    • 2 Green chillies, chopped
    • 2 Dry red chilli, break in pieces
    • 1/4 cup Peanuts
    • 4-5 Curry leaves
    • Asafoetida powder - A pinch
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
    • Coriander leaves - A few
    • 2 tbsp Oil
    • salt and sugar to taste


    1. Heat the oil in a pan , add mustard and cumin seeds  and let them crackle .
    2. Add the green chillies, red chilly pieces and the peanuts , fry on medium level for about 2-3 minutes.
    3. Drop in the curry leaves, asafoetida (Hing) and the turmeric powder and fry briefly.
    4. Stir in the beaten rice and toss till it is well coated with the oil and spices. Sprinkle salt and sugar to taste and toss to mix on high level till well heated through.
    5. Remove from heat , let it cool and store in an airtight jar.



    Hi! Simple but Healthy recipe . Add 1 cup of fresh grated coconut towards the end nd try out . Poha is fat , Cholesterol and Sodium free . It is rich in Riboflavin , Vitamin E , Calcium and Magnesium .
