An easy to make tasty & crispy sweet liked by all

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    For Maida Dough

    • 2 cups maida
    • Half cup water
    • 3 tbsp oil

    For Sooji Halwa

    • 1 cup sooji (need not fry)
    • Three-fourth cup sugar (can take more or less as per taste)
    • 1 cup water
    • Elaichi powder

    Enough oil for deep fry


    Maida Dough

    1. Take maida in a bowl, add oil and water to make it into a soft dough
    2. Make lemon-sized dough balls and keep these aside

    Sooji Halwa

    1. Boil water alongwith sugar, keep it in simmer and add elaichi powder
    2. Slowly add sooji and keep stirring to avoid lumps
    3. Keep stirring on simmer till halwa is done
    4. On cooling make small balls of halwa

    Sooji Appam

    1. Heat oil in a kadai for deep frying
    2. Meanwhile spread one dough ball with hand into a poori, use oil for greasing
    3. Keep one halwa ball on the poori and cover it from all sides
    4. Now gently spread this sweet stuffed poori with hand, can use oil for greasing
    5. Deep fry and take it on a serving plate
    6. These remain tasty even after 2-3 days
