Jam Tarts

Kids favourite !!!! and great for party.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings

    • 3 cups of white flour.
    • 2 tsp baking powder.
    • 3/4 cup sugar (powdered)
    • vanilla essence.
    • 3 tbsp of margarine.
    • 6 tbsp of dessicated coconut
    • 1 egg.
    • 3 tbsps of jam(of your choice or use different flavours: plum, pineapple, orange)


    1. Sift flour in a dish..add margarine, rub till it looks like bread crumbs.Preheat oven to medium.
    2. Beat egg. take 2 tsps of it and keep aside,rest add to the flour.add sugar,vanilla baking powder,and 3 tbsp of coconut. Mix.
    3. Use little water to make a soft dough(don't make it very soft otherwise rolling will be difficult).
    4. Cut dough into half.roll one part (sprinkle little flour for easy rolling) into round roti of 1 cm ,cut rounds with small biscuit cutter ,lift cookies and place them in baking tray. roll other half same way ,cut with same size of cutter .make small hole in the center (use small lid) .it should look like doughnut , lift cookies and place  on top  of the previous ones...
    5. Brush sides of tarts with beaten egg, fill the hole with jam sprinkle coconut on it and bake till golden brown .
