Rice Burgers

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 Onion chopped
    • 1 cup cooked rice
    • 1-2 dry bread crumbs
    • 2 tbsp grated cheese
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tbsp chopped walnuts or cashew nuts
    • 1-2 tbsp tomato ketchup
    • 2 burger buns
    • 2 tomato rings
    • 2 onion rings
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2-3 tbsp oil


    1.   Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add onions till cooked.

    2.   Mix rice, bread crumbs, cheese, egg, ketchup, nuts, salt, pepper and onions well.

    3.   Divided the mixture into two and give round shape, apply some oil on it and grill or shred fry till golden brown.

    4.   When cooked well, put on the half side of burger bun. On top of it put ring onions and tomatoes.

    5.   Cover with other half bun and serve hot with ketchup or mayonnaise. Or with coleslaw and French fries.

    Nice recipe Kavita... I had some rice left over and I tried this my kid really liked it and its healthy. Thanks
