Palak (Spinach) Idli

we need 10 sprigs as we grind them it comes very little amount only.can use greeen chilli instead of red chilli

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 1 cup Idli batter(Please see travel idli for idli batter)
    • 10 sprigs of palak (stem part can also be used but to be tender)
    • 2 red chilli
    • a pinch salt(optional)

    Directions

    1. Grind palak and red chilli with a pinch of salt to a smooth paste.
    2. Add this to the Idli batter.
    3. Mix well and grease idli mould and pour 3/4th in the mould.
    4. Steam for 10 minutes.Palak Idli is ready.

    Note:3 cup parboiled rice,1 cup raw rice,3/4th urad dal,1 tsp fenugreek seeds.soak for 2 hrs rice together,urad seperately,grind urad smooth,puffy and rice to a coarse paste,add salt.ferment for 8 hrs.it depends on the weather conditions too.it may take just 6 hrs in summer.

    when we grind palak, red chilli we feel like adding salt for the spicy to be reduced. if u dont want to add salt no need.
