Cauliflower-besan ki sabzi

dry sabzi using gramflour

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 500 gram cauliflower cut into 3/4 inch pcs
    • 1 large tomato roughly chopped
    • 1 cup gram flour
    • 11/2 t.sp. garlic paste
    • 11/2 t. sp. red chilli pwd + 1/2t.sp.
    • 1 t. sp. coriander pwd
    • 1/2 t.sp. turmeric pwd
    • a pinch of asafoetida(hing)
    • 2 tb.sp. oil
    • 1/2 t.sp. mustard seeds
    • 1 tb.sp. water
    • salt to taste
    • 1 tb.sp. finely chopped coriander leaves(optional)


    1. Make a paste of 11/2 t.sp red chilli pwd + garlic paste + a pinch of salt. 
    2. Dry roast gram flour in a pan on low flame. When the raw smell goes and flour starts sticking to the pan take out in a plate and add 1/2 t.sp. red chilli pwd and asafoetida in hot gram flour
    3. Heat oil in a non sick pan and add mustard seeds
    4. After crackling add cauliflower + paste + turmeric pwd + coriander pwd + salt  + 1tb.sp. water and cover
    5. When cauliflower is almost done, add tomato.
    6. After 2 min (spread gram flour on cauliflower, cover and cook on simmer for 5 min
    7. Mix carefully and cook again for 5 min
    8. Switch off the gas and keep covered for 10 min
    9. Garnish with coriander leaves

    what is wrong in the recipe? I don't see any problem. Divya it looks superb and I am sure it will be tasty too. I will definitely give it a try and let you know how it comes out. thanks for sharing and no worries about negative comments.
