Chicken Kozhlambu

Hot and Spicy delight

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    1 kg of Chicken 3 Onions 3 Tomatoes 3-4 Green chillies 1/2 tbs Ginger and garlic paste 1 tbs Chilli powder 1/2 tbs Dhania powder 1/4 tbs Cumin powder 1/2 tbs Garam masala. 5 tbs Vegetable oil. 2 Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bay leaves 1/2 lemon ( optional )

    Directions

    1. Chop the onions legnth wise, chop the tomatoes and slit the green chillies into two.
    2. Heat oil in a nonstick pan or kadai, add cinnamon, cloves, cardamom and bay leaves and fry for a few seconds. Then add the chopped onions and fry till onions turn soft and a little golden colour.
    3. Add tomatoes, and fry them for some time. Then add the chillies followed by ginger and garlic paste.
    4. Then add the chilli, dhania and cumin powder. Mix it well and add a cup of water to it. Let it boil for a few minutes.
    5. In the meanwhile clean the chicken and cut into medium sizes.
    6. Now add the cleaned chicken and stir the contents. Add two to three cups of water depending on the concentration. Followed by garam masala.
    7. Cover it and cook for 15-20 minutes on low heat, Stirring every now and then. optional, add the juice of half a lemon if necessary.
    8. Garnish with corriander leaves. Can be served hot with Basmati rice cooked in a spoon of butter and 2 cardamom for that divine taste, or just try with hot rotis or plain rice
