Sheesh Tawook

This a fav kebab in the Middle east region and u can find them in menus of middle eastern restaurants all over the world. It took birth in turkey and is served with hummos, bread salad or rice. Parsley is not a part of it but this is how I make them.

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings


    • 4 boneless chicken breasts.
    • 1/2 cup yoghurt.
    • 1 tsp crushed garlic
    • 1 1/2 tsp fresh red chili paste or thick chili sauce.
    • 1 tsp tomato paste
    • 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/3 cup lemon juice
    • 2 tbsp finely chopped parsley
    • 3 tbsp oil + 2 tbsp oil( for brushing)

    Directions

    1. In a bowl combine yoghurt, garlic, red chili, both tomatoes, salt, lemon juice, parsley & oil.
    2. Cut the breast into 1/2 inch cubes & marinade the chicken pieces in it for 2-3 hours.
    3. put the chicken in skewers & BBQ them for 8-10 min from all side just to give it a nice golden colour & the chicken to tender up, just brush a little after a while. (over cooking will make it dry)
    4. Serve hot with Iranian dill & bean rice.
    * u can make them in the oven under the grill for 10 -15 min.But BBQ is much better.

    Note: u can add Paprika + very finely chopped red chili instead of paste.
