When my family is board with all the other desi dishes dal is something the whole family would vote to eat. So here is a yummy and tasty recipe for you all.
Ingredients
vegetarian 4 servings
4 tbsp oil
few curry leaves
7-8 whole red chilli
2 gslit green chilli
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 mustard seeds
1 onion thinly sliced
2 cloves of garlic thinly sliced
1 tsp ginger /agrlic paste
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp salt or adjust as desired
1/2 can tomato pulp or 2 ripe tomato cubes.
1 - 1 1/2 c chana dal soaked over night
2 1/2 c water
3 tbsp cilantro
12 - 15 cubes of fried paneer .
Directions
In a pressure cooker heat ghee, add curry leaves, whole red chilli, cumin and mustard seed.
When the mustard seed stop popping add onion and garlic and fry till light golden.
Add spices, ginger /garlic paste and tomato pulps and fry for 2 min.
Add dal & toss to coat dal with masalas.
Pour water and cover with lid.
cook up to 2- 4 whistles.
Remove from heat and bring out all the pressure.
Open the lid and add fried paneer, put back over fire.
Lower the heat and cook over low flame for 10 min.
