Murgh methi 2

The fragrance & taste of this simple regular dish is awesome.

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings


    • 1/4 cup oil
    • 3-4 tsp dry Kusuri methi leaves
    • 1 onion finely chopped
    • 1 tsp ginger/garlic paste
    • 11/2 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp haldi
    • 1/4 tsp methi seeds powder
    • 2 tomatoes cut into small cubes
    • 1/4 cup curd
    • 1 whole chicken cut into 8 portions ( washed and cleaned)
    • 1/4 cup water.

    Directions

    1. In a karhai heat oil, add methi leaves & fry till the fragrance is felt.
    2. Add Onion, ginger/garlic paste & fry till transparent.
    3. Add the spices fry for 1 min then add the tomatoes.
    4. Toss fry until the tomatoes are mushy.
    5. Add curd & stir so no lump are formed.
    6. Add chicken & toss fry contetiously over medium heat for around 10 min.
    7. Pour water and lower the heat, cook over low flame for another 15 min and until oil floats to the top.
    8. Remove & serve hot with daal, chawal or roties.
