Makaii (Corn) Pulav

Mouthwatering Makai-ke-pulav

Very easy to cook and is ready in less than 20mins.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 2 cups Basmati Rice
    • 3 cups Water
    • 2 cups yellow corn kernels
    • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
    • 2 tbsp Ghee (Butter)
    • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
    • 2 Bay leaves (Tej-patha)
    • 1 tsp Garlic paste
    • 1 tsp Ginger paste
    • 2 Whole Cardamom
    • 4 Black Cloves
    • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (finely chopped )
    • cilantro leaves for garnishing
    • Salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Cook rice separately in a pressure or rice-cooker with water.
    2. In a frying pan, fry the onions with ghee (or butter) till they turn brown.
    3. Add the corn and salt and keep stirring the mixture for about 5-6 minutes till the corn becomes soft.
    4. Add all the above mentioned spices and fry the mixture for the next 7-8 minutes on medium heat.
    5. Turn the heat down to low and cover the pan.
    6. Once the rice is cooked, add the rice to the mixture in the pan and stir well until the rice is uniformly coated with the mixture.
    7. Before serving, top the pulav with finely chopped cilantro leaves.

    you did not add any chilly pwd or green chillies.& one more thing if the rice is pressure cooked.i thing the rice will be over cooked.it should be over cooked or not. or it should be cooked normally as cooked for biryani.
