Masala Chai

A very popular style of preparing this famous drink.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

  • 2 cups Milk, whole
  • 2 nos. Cardamom
  • 2 nos. Cloves
  • 1 no. Bay leaves
  • ½ tsp Ginger
  • 2 tsps. Tea leaves
  • Sugar to taste

Directions

  1. Heat 2 cups of water in a sauce pan, add ginger, clove, bay leaf and green cardamom, let it boil.
  2. Add milk, sugar and put tea or tea bags(3-4 nos.) Continue boiling for 2 minutes.
  3. Turn the heat off and cover for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Place a strainer on the cup and pour about 7/8 cup of the tea concoction into the strainer.

Hi, the real masala of chai is made of dry ginger, black paper, cardamomom, little jaifal, and cinamon ----- 1 part black paper--2 parts cardamom--4 parts dry ginger pwd.--4 inch cinamon stick---1\2 t.sp.jaifal powder ---grind and fill in airtight jar

ok ,masala chai method is fine.easy method of masala chai used in some hotels are just they powder cardomom and dry ginger-store in air tight container. ya i too use ginger and cardomom or ginger,cardomom,very few cloves and cinnamon for aroma

Hi, masala tea recipie is good but insted of bay leaf add small piece cinnamon stick as bay leaf we add in curry not suitable for masala tea.You can make a mixture of all ingredients and store in air tight container. You must use dry gingerpowder if you want to store it.One more thing to add is little nutmeg (jaiful).This combination will give you really nice taste of masala tea. Thank You.
