Gulab Jambu

Very very tasty

Ingredients vegetarian 10 servings

    • 3 cups full cream milk powder
    • 1 cup white flour.
    • 1 tsp baking powder.
    • 2 tbsps margarine.
    • 1 tbsp yogurt.
    • 1 cup fresh cream (malai)
    • Oil for frying
    • 1 tsp cardamom powder
    • pinch saffron


    • 3 cups sugar
    • 3 cups water.
    • orange food colour (optional)


    1. Combine milk powder,flour,and baking powder. Rub in margarine.
    2. Add yogurt, cardamom and saffron.
    3. Bind the in a soft dough using  fresh cream,add little water if necessary.
    4. Knead well for about 10 mins or untill dough is no longer sticky.
    5. Shape into small round balls and deep fry on medium heat turning constantly.
    6. Make a syrup and put all the jambus in it ,boil gently on medium heat for 5 mins.
    7. Prick each jambu with toothpick before putting in the syrup.
    8. Serve hot or cold.




    Hi! You can omit yoghurt if you dont want it.I have made them with yoghurt and without yoghurt,so it wont make much difference.


    Hey, do we really need to put in yogurt???
