Pineapple Murabba

Pineapple Marmalade

Recipe by fatma of Dar-es-salaam, TZ

You can prepare this marmalade and keep in refrigerator for months.

Ingredients vegetarian 8 servings

    • 4 Cups pineapple (diced)
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 1 tsp cardamom seeds
    • 4 sticks cinnamon (break into small pieces)
    • 1/2 tsp orange food colour
    • 1/2 cup cashewnuts and almonds (break into small pieces)
    • 3 tbsps raisins


    1. Put pineapple with all the ingredients (except cashew and raisins) in heavy bottom pan, and  cook on medium fire ,stirring  all the time, till the sugar turns itno a thick syrup and little bit brown. (dont let it dry up)
    2. Remove from fire, add cashewnuts, almonds and raisins. Mix well and let it cool.
    3. Fill it in bottle or any container and keep it in refrigerator.
    4. Eat with parathas or spread it on bread.




    Hi ,,,,No water is not required ,,let it cook in its own juice.
