Potato onion and tomato bake

Potatoes can be baked, fried, steamed, boiled, and roasted with many other ingredients but this combination is superb and simple.

Ingredients vegetarian 6 servings

    • 4 large potatoes ( peeled and thinly sliced )
    • 2 small tomatoes ( peeled and thinly sliced )
    • 1 small onion thinly sliced
    • 30 gms butter cut into thin pieces
    • freshly ground black pepper as required
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/2 cup cream
    • 1/2 cup chicken stock
    • 1 cup grated cheddar




    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C
    2. Brush an ovenproof dish with oil or melted butter .
    3. Layer the potato , tomato,and onion alternately in a dish ,finishing with a potato layer .
    4. Dot each of the layers with pieces of butter and sprinkle with pepper to taste . 
    5. Combine the milk , cream and stock . Pour over layered potatoes .
    6. Top with cheese Dot with any remainig butter .
    7. Bake for 45 -55 minutes or until the potato is tender and golden brown



    I think its a vegeterian receipe !So , chicken broth should not be added.
