Vermicelli (seviyan) Delight

vermicelli cooken in milk and garnished with chopped nuts.

This is a perfect dessert to serve your guests in IDD.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings

    • 1 cup vermicelli
    • 1/2 litre milk (fresh)
    • 1/2 cup condensed milk
    • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
    • 5 tbsps sugar
    • Chopped nuts. (almonds,pisatas)
    • 1 tbsps sultanas
    • Few strands of kesar


    1. Break vermicelli into small pieces and roast lightly in a pan (without fat) on low heat till light brown.
    2. Add fresh milk ,sugar and cardamom powder,mix well and cook on low heat , stirring all the time, till very little milk remains, add kesar and condensed milk, continue cooking till slightly thick.
    3. Transfer into serving bowl, and garnish with chopped nuts and sultanas.
    4. Serve cold.

    Sultanas are the white (light colored) raisins. In hindi it's known as Kismis



    what are sultanas? can you give english or hindi name of it?
