Fada khichadi

It's a complete meal. Good for sunday lunch. this is differnt, nutrious and easy to make receipe.

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1½  cup roasted daliya
    • 1 cup mix Dal (moong & chana)
    • 2 1/2 cups water
    • 1 tsp roasted peanuts
    • 3 tsp shelled peas
    • 2 tsp ghee.
    • 1 tsp green chiilli paste
    • 3 whole red chilli
    • a small piece of dalchini
    • 2-3 cloves
    • 1 tsp each cashews and raisins
    • ½ tsp mustard seeds
    • 1-2 tsp turmeric powder
    • salt to taste

    Directions

    1. In a pressure cooker mix daliya, daals, salt, turmeric powder, peanuts, peas and water well.
    2. Cook it for atleast 10 mins on slow flame.
    3. Heat ghee in a pan and add dalchini, cloves, red chilli and sarso.
    4. When it crackles, add it to daliya and daal mixture. Mix all it well
    5. Let it cook again for 5 mins.
    6. Garnish with cashews and raisins.
    7. Serve hot with papad and chilled dahi.

    I use tuverdal-- and i make the tadka first-- and than pressure cook the khichdi ---try once

    Hi deepali I add some more vegetables in fada Khichadi and it taste nice. If you add potato, carrot and lilva(tuverdana) it's nice. I also add garlic-ginger paste. Try this.
