Kadhai gosht

Chicken with tomatoes

Easy to cook and a delicious treat .

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1/2 kg meat
    • 6 -7 tomatoes
    • 1 tsp ginger paste
    • 1 tsp garlic paste
    • chopped ginger
    • 1/2 cup yogurt
    • 12 - 15  big green chillies
    • salt
    • 1 tsp white cumin seeds
    • 1 tsp whole coriander
    • 1 -2 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • cilantro for garnishing

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a karahi and fry the green chillies till the colour changes slightly, take out from the oil and keep aside .
    2. Now add the chicken to the oil and fry till the colour changes, keep the chicken out and keep aside.
    3. Add the chopped tomatoes , ginger garlic paste and let the tomatoes become soft, then add the chicken, salt, and red chilli powder . 
    4. Add the yogurt let it cook till the oil comes up on the surface then add the roasted and grounded cumin and coriander. Add the green chillies. 
    5. Add the chopped ginger and close the lid and let it cook on very slow flame for 5 minutes.
    6. Garnish with cilantro.

    If u add 1/2 tsp black pepper powder in step 5 then the taste come out more good.

    Yes Nushi i am sorry that i missed chicken in the ingredient but i meant chicken meat . Thanku for pointing out .

    dear puru in this recipe i have used chicken but u can also use red meat . when using mutton or beef just boil it first separately then continue with the recipe .

    pls clarify, is it red meat or chicken, since the dish name is kadhai gosht, we should cook red meat (lamb).
