Kothimbir Bhaat

Maharashtrian rice flavoured with green coriander leaves

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup basmati rice
    • 1/2 cup coriander and green chilli paste
    • 2 cinammon sticks
    • 2 bay leaves


    1. Wash the rice and keep it aside for 15-20 mins.
    2. In  the mean time grind coriander and chillies .into a fine paste
    3. Heat oil in a pan and put cinammon and bay leaves,then put the coriander/chilli paste and saute it till  it turns greenish black.
    4. Now put the washed rice and again saute for 2-3 mins.
    5. Add water and salt to taste and cook for arnd 15-20 mins
    6. Serve hot with yoghurt.
