this is my" Mothers recipe"

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 2-3 onions big (finely sliced)
    • 2 tbsp urad dal
    • 4 to 5 red chillis
    • 1/2 tsp l.g. powder
    • 1 tsp imli past
    • salt to taste
    • jaggery to taste
    • 1 tbsp oi


    1. Heat one tsp oil
    2. Fry chillis, urad dal and l.g.powder till dal is golden brown and keep aside.
    3. Heat remaining oil and add sliced onions and fry till brown.
    4. Let it cool.
    5. Grind all ingredients to a paste using water(very little).
    6. is yum with idlis and dosas.


    anis fathima

    It is asafoetida powder. the brand name is L.G. In tamil it is known as perumkayam, in urdu and hindi it is hing, in malayalam it is kayappodi. is it no usha?


    I wanna know what is l.g powder?? plz specify clearly..
