Idli uppuma

a new make up for left over idlis

caution:you will forget to eat idlis as such.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 5 Left over idlis
    • 1 Onion (big)
    • 1 Green Chilli
    • 1 tbsp Oil
    • 1 tsp Channa Dhal
    • 1 tsp Urad Dhal
    • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
    • curry leaves few
    • coriander leaves to garnish


    1. Break idlis into crumbs using hand.
    2. Chop onion and chilli into small pieces
    3. Heat oil and add the dhals. Fry till they turn golden in color
    4. Add onion ,curry leaves and chilli and saute.
    5. Add idli crumbs.  add chilli powder and mix gently for a few seconds.
    6. add little salt.remember idlis have salt already.
    7. add coriander leaves finely chopped.
    8. Serve hot with chutney. It'll taste really great.
    9. keep the left over idlis in fridge as they crumble more easily.
