red pumpkin in curd

a sweet and sour sidedish

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 cup red pumpkin pieces (no need to peel)
    • 2 cups curd
    • salt to taste
    • a few curry leaves

    to grind:

    • 2 tbsp coconu
    • 2 red chilli

    for tempering:

    • 1 tsp mustard seeds
    • 2 tsp coconut oil


    1. Boil pumpkin pieces in cooker till soft.
    2. Grind pumpkin pieces,salt coconut, chiilis to a not very fine paste.
    3. Add to curd and mix well.
    4. Temper with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
    5. Serve with pulao ,rice or chappatis
    6. Adjust chillis as the pumpkin will taste sweet.
