Raw Banana Curry

Simple curry that goes well with plain rice or chapati

Ingredients vegetarian 4 servings


    • 2 nos. Raw Banana
    • 4 tbsp Vegetable Oil
    • a pinch of Hing
    • 1 tsp Mustard seeds(Rai)
    • 1 tsp Urad dal
    • 1 tsp Channa dal
    • 2 Red Chillies(broken in halves)
    • Salt to taste
    • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
    • 1 tsp Red chilli powder
    • 2 tbsp Dry Coconut (optional)

    Directions

    1. Cut the ends of the Raw banana & peel the skin with a vegetable peeler.
    2. Cut into small size pieces & keep aside.
    3. Heat Oil in a kadai, add hing & mustard seeds. When seeds crackle add urad dal & channa dal. When the dals turn slight brown add broken Red chillies.
    4. Add the banana pieces & mix well for 2 mins on a medium heat. 
    5. Now add salt & Turmeric powder. Fry till done.
    6. Add Red chillie powder & mix well. Turn off the heat & add dry coconut. Serve hot with Plain rice.

    Hi bimba...this curry is made using only Oil. No water is added. You can sprinkle some water before closing the lid.
