Roasted garlic powder

Delicious with plain rice...healthy way to keep off cold.

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings


    • 4 pods - Garlic
    • 1/4 cup Fresh Coconut
    • 6 Dry Red chillies
    • 5 tsp Urad dal
    • 5 tsp Channa dal
    • a pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
    • 3 tsp Vegetable Oil
    • Salt to taste

    Directions

    1. Seperate Garlic from its pod, clean & keep aside.
    2. Heat 1 tsp of Oil in a kadai. Add urad & channa dal. Roast for 2 mins on a medium heat.
    3. Add Dry red chillies, Coconut & hing. Roast for 10-15 seconds. Keep aside to cool.
    4. In the remaining Oil fry the Garlic cloves till light brown in colour or till soft.
    5. Grind everything together with Salt to a coarse powder or fine powder according to your taste.
    6. Eat with hot Plain Rice & Ghee.

    NOTE: Adjust Chillies to your taste.
