Luggan nu custard

Ingredients
vegetarian
6 servings
3 cups milk
3 semi-heaped tbsp sugar
125g white or yellow "pedas"(available from an indian sweet shop)
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanill essence
1 tbsp dry fruits
Directions
Boil milk, adding 1 tablespoon sugar and let it simmer, uncovered for 20 minutes.
Add "pedas" and remaining sugar and cook for 5 to 10 minutes more.
Take pan off fire and allow to cool by placing it in cold water.
Separate eggs. Place egg whites in a deep bowl and beat with an egg-beater till stiff.
Add yolks to whites and blend well.
Add vanilla essence to eggs.
Add cooled milk mixture to eggs and blend well.
Pour mixture into a baking dish, sprinkle with dry fruits and bake in moderate oven for 45 mins or till top is nice and brown and the pudding is firm.
