Russian Sauce Chicken

Saucy chicken with smoky flavor

quick n easy recipe....can be enjoy with rice or naan

Ingredients non vegetarian 6 servings

    • 1-1/2 kg Chicken
    • 1 Capsicum
    • 1 tbsp vinegar
    • 1 tsp Ginger/Garlic paste
    • 1 cup Macaroni (boiled)
    • 1/2 cup coriander leaves (chopped)
    • a piece of coal for smoking

    For sauce

    • 1 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
    • 4 tbsp Oil
    • 1 tbsp vinegar
    • 1 tsp soya sauce
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 3 tbsp sugar
    • 1 tsp ginger/garlic paste
    • 1 tsp red chilli powder
    • 1/2 tsp black pepper powder


    1. Boil chicken in vinegar and ginger/garlic paste till it is tender. Leave half cup stock for gravy
    2. Dice capsicum in small square pieces
    3. Put all the sauce ingredients in blender n blend it well for 1 minunte
    4. Pour the sauce in a pan with stock and let it cook for few minutes till oil floats on top.
    5. Add chicken and capsicum pieces and cook for another 2-3 minutes
    6. Give it a smoke of coal for at least 10 minutes
    7. Serve it in a dish and decorate with corriander leaves and macaroni

    dear Birjis, In order to give smoke, first heat the coal on stove till it turns red.Then take a small deep bowl either steel or glass n place it in ur pan containing ur dish n put heated coal in d bowl n pour 1tsp of oil on the coal.As soon as u 'll pour d oil,smoke 'll start to come out of d coal.Immediately cover ur pan wid the lid n let it stay for 10-15 minutes.
