Dahi Murgh (Yoghurt Chicken)

Hot and Spicy Chichen

This recipe is very hot and spicy. If it is too much for you then reduce the quantity of pepper.

Ingredients non vegetarian 4 servings


    • 1 kg boneless chicken
    • 2 onion chopped
    • 12 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
    • 1 inch ginger (chopped)
    • 2 cups of yoghurt
    • 6 whole red chilly
    • 1 tsp red chilly powder
    • 1 tsp garam masala powder
    • 1/2 tsp jeera powder
    • 1 tbsp spoon corsely ground black pepper
    • Assorted whole garam masala (10 cloves,2 stick cinnamon, 2 green cardamaom, 2 black cardamom etc)
    • 3 tbsp veg oil
    • Chopped coriender leaves to garnish
    • salt to taste
    • 1 cup water

    Directions

    1. Heat oil in a thick bottom sauce pan or wok.
    2. Put assorted whole garam masala and red chilly to crackle.
    3. Add chopped garlic and onion, saute till light brown.
    4. Add all powdered masala and mix well.
    5. Now add chicken and chopped ginger, fry a little.
    6. Now put the flame off, add yoghurt, water, salt and black pepper. Mix them well.
    7. When mixed, put the flame on and after on boil reduce the flame to minimum and cook with closed lid for 45 minutes to one hour or till curry becomes thick.
    8. Garnish with chopped coriender and enjoy.
