Aam Chutney

Green mango in sugar syrup

Ingredients vegetarian 2 servings

    • 1 large green mango
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 2 tbsp Kishmish (soaked in water)
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 tsp cumin powder (roasted)
    • ½ tsp oil
    • Mustard seed (for seasoning)


    1. Boil large whole mango with skin
    2. Cut both side of the mango (lengthwise) and scoop out pulp from the skin
    3. Make pieces (if necessary)
    4. Heat oil and add mustard seed.
    5. Add mango pieces.
    6. In a separate bowl boil sugar and water.
    7. Add mango pieces and let them boil together till the syrup thicken.
    8. Add salt and kishmish.
    9. Mix them well.
    10. Remove from fire.
    11. Sprinkle roasted cumin powder and mix them well.
